MY FATHER IS A POLICEMAN

#RIP #JUSTICE  (c) Bernadette Manayon

THE EAGLE AND THE CROW

The only bird that can peck at an Eagle is the crow. He sits on his back and bites his neck. The Eagle does not respond or fight with the crow. It doesn't waste time or energy on the crow. It simply opens its wings and begins to rise higher in the sky. The higher the flight, the harder it is for the crow to breathe. Eventually the crow falls due to lack of oxygen. Stop wasting your time with the crows. Just take them to your heights and they'll fade. πŸ‚

Who shook the jar?

If you collect 100 black ants and 100 red ants and put them in a jar, nothing will happen. But if you shake the jar violently and leave it on the table, the ants will start killing each other.  Reds will believe black is the enemy, while blacks will believe red is the enemy when the real enemy is the person who shook the jar. The same is true in our society. Before we fight each other, we must ask ourselves: Who shook the jar? πŸ‚

Who are the real Robbers? πŸ‚

During a robbery in America, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: "Don't move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you." Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called the "Mind Changing Concept." Changing the conventional way of thinking. When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): "Big brother, let's count how much we got." The older robber rebutted and said: "You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank." This is called "Experience.” Nowadays, the experience is more important than paper qualifications! After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: "Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves a

What's in my cup? πŸ‚

I love this analogy! You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee?  "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer. You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.  Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. *Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.* Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it until you get rattled. *So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"* When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace, and humility?  Anger, bitterness, harsh words, and reactions?  Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.  Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness, and love for others. πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

YOU START DYING ... SLOWLY πŸ‚

Pablo Neruda, Spanish poet, Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. His Poem: "You start dying slowly"  You start dying slowly; if you do not travel, if you do not read, If you do not listen to the sounds of life, If you do not appreciate yourself, You start dying slowly; When you kill your self-esteem, When you do not let others help you, You start dying slowly; If you become a slave of your habits, Walking every day on the same paths, If you do not change your routine, If you do not wear different colors, Or you do not speak to those you don’t know, You start dying slowly; If you avoid to feel the passion And their turbulent emotions; Those which make your eyes glisten, And your heartbeat fast, You start dying slowly; If you do not risk what is safe for the uncertain, If you do not go after a dream, If you do not allow yourself, At least once in your lifetime, To run away, You start dying -  Slowly...! πŸ‚

The Three Types Of Friends In Life According To Aristotle

1. Friends For A Reason: With this friendship, both parties obtain a benefit from each other. The friendships are generally quite shallow. It is like a give take relationship. Also known as utility friendships because they serve a purpose, not a true bond. Aristotle classes this friendship as evil and selfish one. 2. Friends For A Season: Friends coming together due to similar likes, values, and activities. These friendships are often formed during school years or when in sporting teams. During the time you are friends, you enjoy each other’s company, jokes, and chatter. The friend is important and makes you feel good. Of the three types of friends in life, friends for a season are short-lived as, with time, we change and form new friendships. 3. Friends For Life:  This friendship is formed slowly. Usually, you have similar values and goals in life. A friend for life is with you, stands by you, and supports you in all you do. True friends listen and respect each other’s values and beli

BE CIVILIZED πŸ‚

Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones. But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink, or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal. 'A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety, and has tended the person through recovery. Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts', Mead said. We are at our best when we serve others. Be civilized. πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

Covid-19 Pandemic

People say we're on the same boat in this pandemic, WE ARE NOT. We are in the same ocean but not the same boat.  Some are on yacht; Others are on ships; sturdy, strong and safe. But most of us are on wooden boats. Other's are clinging on to floaters.  And many are STILL DROWNING.  #CovidDiaries #MySentiments
